  2. I’m hoping with gpt and recent stable diffusion etc that we get more story tellers able to compete with box office hits, I’m hoping we get much better stories and categories on a smaller budget . Hopeful

  3. Many comms professionals and other creatives probably use it to get unstuck, spark something new… etc. Very tactically. But I think from what we saw in the writers and actors strike was that no studio is wholly replacing the unionized talent with AI.

But GPT is already helping write speeches for your favourite elected government representative. 😉

I can’t be the only one who thought that looked like the Endwalker main menu lol.

  5. Imagine the hit movie Joker but instead of a person it’s a cat. Oddly it knows a Cornish Rex is almost hairless, but it make a Sphynx cat instead. One picture is a Sphynx and a Cornish Rex merged.

  6. No.

People have been saying this since ChatGPT was first released, and since Stable Diffusion made the first photorealistic image. “OMG custom hollywood movies within a year!”.

No, not by a long shot. Not by a looooooooooong shot. For you to write a prompt, wait an hour or day, and then get a finished movie in a quality that’s high enough to pass as an actual professional film, is easily 5 years away, maybe 10.

And even by then, the movies you are comparing it to will have gotten equally better in quality, so big studios will still be producing the biggest films that you’ll still be paying to go see.

We’ll probably start seeing amateur/indie “AI movies” within the 12 months or so, where individuals or small groups have made an entire movie with AI output – but it won’t be an automated process. It’ll be with human guidance every step of the way, and humans editing it all together.

We’re still a very long ways off from this, and thinking that we’re close shows that A) you don’t know that much about how all these technologies work, B) you don’t know how much effort goes into making a good movie.
